The Oshawa office is looking for a hardworking, organized, results-oriented, and professional Supplier Performance Specialist to join our team.

SUMMARY OF ROLE:

Responsible to provide knowledge, guidance and oversight in support of Supplier performance excellence; quality, technical/engineering, and schedule. To execute program objectives, the incumbent will be expected to collaborate with Suppliers and the Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, Construction, and Scheduling departments. Applying an inquisitive attitude complemented by expertise and knowledge, the Supplier Performance Specialist is integral to effective Supplier fit for purpose performance. In this role the individual shall report to QA, with priorities set by the Purchasing Manager.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical and quality oversight on scope requirements for the purposes of contributing input on supply strategy, critical characteristics or risk identification and mitigation plans
  • Review and provide technical input to Supplier submitted Inspection and Test Plans and Procedures; this includes, but is not limited to, the application of Hold and Witness points
  • Strategically assess scope of Suppliers' work and assist in scheduling and planning Surveillance activities to ensure effective Supplier oversight
  • Work closely with Suppliers and other applicable shareholders to ensure requirements are clear, understood, monitored, and performed to plans and schedule
  • Help address unforeseen gaps or issues, also, escalate as necessary if matter persists
  • Assist in the monitoring of Supply Chain quality performance or trends and recommend or implement related quality improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to the development of internal Supply Chain related procedures, practices, objectives, and tools
  • Provide input in the development of Supplier specific Quality plans or similar
  • Contribute to the assessment of Supplier capabilities in relation to scope/performance needs; technical, quality, work management, and capacity.
  • Support the initiation, review, or close-out of Supply Chain related NCR's, CAR's, or Self-Assessments
  • Generate and maintain detailed work records, progress and summary reports including statistical analysis when necessary

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS:

Knowledge and Education Requirements

  • College or University accreditation in any of the following areas of expertise; Engineering, Technical, or Quality. Engineering is a preference
  • Knowledge of 6 Sigma Methodology or similar is an asset

Specific Experience or Skills

  • 5 years of direct Construction Industry QA /Purchasing experience is an asset
  • Must have strong technical and interpersonal skills
  • Possesses negotiating and conflict resolution skills
  • Technical specification (drawings, blue print) and Quality Assurance (Factory Test Plans, Quality Plans, ITP) familiarity is required
  • Role will require travel
