The Head Office in Niagara Falls, ON is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and goal-oriented Co-op Student to join the Purchasing, and Tools and Equipment team as a Supply Chain Associate for a four to eight month fall or winter term.

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:

Reporting to both the Manager of Purchasing and the Manager of Fleet, Tools and Equipment, the Supply Chain Associate will work with supply chain and operations to determine strategies for increased efficiencies and provide recommendations. Areas of work covered include Purchasing, Inventory control, Transportation and Logistics, and Order Processing

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Fleet, Tools and Equipment Warehouse

• Observe and report potential areas of improvement for processing of 3rd party rentals
• Work with Tool crib and Purchasing personnel to strategize ways to automate and track inventory of small tools and equipment.
• Assist fleet specialist on consolidation of suppliers and service centers for out-of-town maintenance on company fleet.
• Determine inefficiencies and provide automated solutions for receiving orders and traceability throughout the fulfillment process.

Purchasing

• Provide support to the Purchasing department by obtaining valid quotes
• Work closely with the team and Suppliers to improve and expand VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) type programs
• Support other special assignments including continuous improvement input or benchmarking as pertaining to Company Purchasing related procedures, forms, or guidelines
• Data gathering, entry, and analysis of Purchasing / Supplier related information
• Tracking of Purchase Orders, or other supply related activities

General

• Ensures responsibilities and accountabilities are carried out in a safe manner in accordance with E.S. Fox Limited safety policy/procedures, ISO 18001 standards and OHSA requirements.
• Ensures that environmental aspects within his/her sphere of responsibility are adhered to pursuant to ISO 14001 requirements.

KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Enrollment in a Post Secondary Business program with a focus in Procurement/Supply Chain, Operations or another relative program.

SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

• Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Prior warehouse or supply chain experience would be an asset
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
• Demonstrate resourcefulness and ability to troubleshoot, research and provide analysis

• Self-starter, capable of working independently
• Multi-tasking capabilities
