The Stoney Creek, Ontario location is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Engineering Co-op Student to join the Engineering team for a four to eight month fall or winter term.

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Area Manager, the Engineering Co-op Student will gain valuable experience in supporting, coordinating, and administering all field/site activities, such as: estimating, document control, procurement functions, and scheduling. There may also be some assistance required regarding QNQC, and CAD drafting. Dependent on project needs, the Engineering Co-op Student may also assist with field related duties involving working directly on the job site.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be a direct support to the Division Manager in all related areas.
  • Assist with the assembly of estimates, supplier solicitation, and material takeoffs.
  • Log, track, and control flow of all documents for all orders and projects.
  • Assist with requisitions, expediting, and receiving of material and equipment.
  • Assist in developing layout plans and WBS's based on SOW involved.
  • Help create, monitor, and update field schedules and help determine earned value metrics.
  • Help manage, organize, and assemble QNQC paperwork necessary for final customer turnover packages.
  • Provide support in field related administrative function.

KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Enrolled in a College or University Engineering Program

SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Exposure to CAD design, by use of AutoCAD; operation of other CAD software will be an asset.
  • Experience in preparation of technical reports and/or engineering design reports.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong technical and trouble-shooting skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and be able to work independently.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work well under time constraints.
