The Head Office in Niagara Falls, ON is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Human Resources Co-op Student to provide effective support to the Human Resources team beginning May 2023 until August 2023.

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:
The Human Resources Co-op Student will provide administrative and HR support in a fast-paced office environment. The Human Resources Co-op Student will gain exposure to high volume recruitment, while assisting with the coordination of recruitment activities including but not limited to job postings, pre-screening, interviews and completion of employment references. The Human Resources Co-op Student will also assist in the coordination of new hire onboarding, providing assistance to internal and external stakeholders as well as contributing to the completion of daily administrative tasks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with employee recruitment (posting vacancies, pre-screening applicants, scheduling interviews, and reference checks)
- Preparation and coordination of new employee onboarding (ensuring all administrative tasks are completed)
- Post all recruitment activity and HR related material to document management system
- Update documents as required (job descriptions, templates, forms, etc.)
- Scheduling and administrative support
- Other duties as assigned, including HR projects and functions
- Responsible for responding to day-to-day general HR inquiries in person, by telephone or by email
KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Working toward the completion of a Bachelor's degree, preferably with a specialization in Human Resources and/or College diploma from a recognized Human Resources Management program
- CHRP in progress is considered an asset
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, particularly the Ontario Employment Standards Act and the Ontario Human Rights Code
- Knowledge of the full-cycle recruitment process
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Experience in a Construction/Engineering/Nuclear or Project Management environment would be a definite asset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times and manage sensitive information
- Exemplary customer service focus
- Strong communicator, both oral and written
- Enthusiastic and willing to learn new tasks
- Exercises good judgement at all times
- Ability to multi-task, and perform in a fast paced environment
