The Oshawa, ON site is looking for an organized, results-driven and professional Payroll and Billing Administrator to join the Project Payroll and Billing team.

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Payroll and Billing Supervisor, Payroll and Billing Administrators are responsible for supporting the projects team, senior management and our clients in the nuclear industry by ensuring that reporting is completed in a timely and accurate manner. The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of accounting and cost control principles, experience preparing and processing payroll and billings, and an understanding of union collective agreements.


KEY CUSTOMERS SERVED:

  • Project Management, Construction, Estimating, Engineering, Procurement, Quality Assurance and Safety
  • Project Financials Controller and senior management team
  • Head office A/R, A/P and Payroll
  • Nuclear industry clients

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inputs and reconciles timesheets and billings to the internal software system and to the client's cost & project management software systems
  • Conducts cost control analysis and provides financial reporting to support the project teams and senior management
  • Advises the project teams on proper payroll and billing processes
  • Provides support to the Project Financials Controller to develop, interpret and monitor payroll and billings policies and procedures to ensure they are updated, implemented, and communicated effectively
  • Maintains a working knowledge of union collective agreements
  • Assists with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Performs miscellaneous clerical functions and,
  • Other duties, as assigned, including special payroll projects and functions
  • May be required to work from other locations, such as Pickering, on an as required basis.

KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • OSSD Diploma
  • College business or accounting diploma or university degree is an asset
  • Accounting designation is an asset

SPECIFIC SKILL AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes
  • Understanding of accounting month-end close process
  • 5-10 years of Payroll and Billing experience preferred
  • Experience in a Construction, Engineering, Nuclear or Project Management environment
  • Knowledge of relevant union collective agreements
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with Oncore is an asset
